Get an estimate:

To receive an accurate estimate and understand it is one of the most important facts that will make your move successful and less stressful.

Make a list of all your belongings that needs to be moved – list all the items that can not fit in the box and list an approximate number of boxes. If you do not know the number, ask one of our Professional moving consultants to advise you based on the size of your home, number of people that live in the house and the number of years that you spent there.

When presenting this list to our moving consultant, advise us if you are interested in additional packing (link to packing page), unpacking or storage (link to storage page) service – se we could prepare the moving package that will suit your unique needs.

1 week to 5 days prior to the scheduled pick up date – go over the list once again and make all the necessary changes with your sales representative so we could plan our rout accordingly to your needs.

When packing the goods that will be coming with you – remember to pack all immediate necessities for at list 2 to 3 weeks.

Make sure that the drivers and the office has all the phone numbers so they could always contact you at any time till your goods are delivered.

What items not to move?

Items of Personal Importance/Sentimental Value – This is one of the categories of non-allowable can create problems should your shipment be delayed or items lost. We suggest that irreplaceable items and\or sentimental items be carried with you instead of being packed with your shipment.

Non-allowable Items – There Items that cannot be shipped because they represent a hazard or are perishable.

Listed below are some common non-allowable items that you will need to address prior to your pack and load dates.

Hazardous Materials – Items that are flammable, corrosive or explosive.

  • Paints (latex & oil-based)
  • Paint Thinner
  • Household Batteries
  • Chemistry Sets
  • Darkroom Chemicals

  • Fertilizer
  • Pesticides
  • Poisons (such as weed killer)

Perishables – Food, plants or living things that may die or spoil in transit.*

 

Examples include:

  • Frozen Food
  • Plants
  • Refrigerated Food
  • Open or half-used foods
  • Produce
  • Food without adequate preservation

* For shipments moving less than 150 miles and delivered within 24 hours of pickup, our agents may agree to transport perishables that are properly packed and require no servicing in transit.
